Porsche Sports Cup China ignites the new seasonPorsche Sports Cup China returns for fifth-year running in 2023

Shanghai/Ningbo. The Porsche Sports Cup China returned for its fifth consecutive season in 2023, kicking off with a race weekend in Ningbo featuring an upgraded programme, with new track experiences and new race cars attracting a steady stream of Porsche enthusiasts and racers. Since its first race in 2019, Porsche Sports Cup China has been enriching its driving experience programme to create a motorsport carnival and professional event platform exclu-sively for Porsche enthusiasts in China. This year, as Porsche brand celebrates its 75th anni-versary and the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia celebrates its 20th anniversary, the Porsche Sports Cup China is back with four-stop series, continuing to contribute to the development of China's motorsport culture while providing a wider stage for Porsche enthusiasts and drivers to race on.

And they’re off! The Sports Cup returns to Ningbo

As one of the Porsche Sports Cup China’s most frequently visited circuits, Ningbo Internation-al Circuit once again welcomed the inauguration of the new season. During the race weekend, more than 100 Porsche road cars and race cars of all colors gathered at the track. Each Por-sche is ready to take to the track with its owner, in keeping with the brand's sporting pedigree and track spirit. The Porsche Sports Cup China offers the perfect opportunity for Porsche owners to gain some track experience, including Introduction to Racetrack programme to help ease beginners into the world of motorsport; Porsche Drivers’ Competition for drivers who al-ready have some track experience; the tailor-made Porsche Sprint Challenge China for race-car drivers eager for win, as well as the awe-inspiring Porsche Parade which is open to all Porsche owners.

Upgraded programme for a new motorsport experience

In order to enrich the experience both on and off the track, and to better cater to the individual needs of each participant, the 2023 season once again features an upgraded track experience programme.

This year, the Introduction to Racetrack programme not only adds guidance on driving the Taycan and 911, but also adds the Gymkhana Challenge to the full-day experience to provide more dynamic driving skills on the track. The Porsche Drivers’ Competition, designed specifi-cally for two-door sports car customers, will also attract more participants and become an even more popular challenge due to the introduction of the 718 Cayman GT4. The Porsche Sprint Challenge China will focus on the 911 GT3 Cup (Type 992) and the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport,with separate championship table, podiums and awards, as well as the Porsche Dealer Trophy under each model category.

After Ningbo, the Sports Cup will travel to V1 Tianjin and Zhuhai International Circuits, in July and September respectively. Finally, the Sports Cup will return to Porsche China's home base in Shanghai at the end of October for its grand finale in conjunction with the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia and the annual Sportscar Together Day.
