Grand Opening of the First Porsche Centre in MianyangPorsche China further enhances its dealer network in Southwest China

Shanghai/Mianyang. On March 23, 2017, Porsche Centre Mianyang opened with a grand celebration. As the first Porsche Centre in the Southwest China region, it further consolidates Porsche’s development in Southwest China and underlines the brand’s value in this potential market. Mr. David Xiao, Vice President Sales of Porsche China; Mr. Cheng Gang, President of the Sichuan Synsunny Group; and Mr. Hang Seo, General Manager of Porsche Centre Mianyang, along with guests and journalists attended the ceremony to witness this memorable event.

“For Porsche, 2016 has proven to be yet another remarkably successful year. China is once again the strongest individual market for Porsche worldwide, delivering 65,246 vehicles to its customers across mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau – an increase of 12 per cent year-on-year.” said Mr. David Xiao, “To achieve sustainable development in China, Porsche China places a lot of importance on the development of our dealership network and the dealers’ professionalism and competitiveness. And this new Porsche Centre is our move to further this goal and provide world-class products and services to our customers in Southwest China.”

Mr. Hang Seo, General Manager of Porsche Centre Mianyang, said, “ The opening of this Porsche Centre has been an important first step for us. As the first Porsche Centre in this city, we are dedicated to making Porsche Centre Mianyang the home for every Porsche customer and enthusiast here.”

Greeting the guests at the opening ceremony was the newly launched luxury sedan, the Panamera with Porsche’s pure sports gene. This model was presented at Porsche Centre Mianyang for the very first time, and impressed with its powerful performance and luxurious comfort. The new Panamera 4S is equipped with a new 2.9-litre V6 bi-turbo engine that boasts 440 hp and 550 Nm. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4.4 seconds (the sprint time is just 4.2 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package) with a top speed of 289 km/h. In addition, for the first time, the new eight-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK II) offers uninterrupted power transmission while reducing fuel consumption. The new chassis combines the cruising comfort of a luxury sedan with the performance of a sports car. An adaptive air suspension with new three-chamber technology, including PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) electronic damper control that is provided as standard for new Panamera 4S and Turbo in China, offers excellent driving dynamics and comfort. The new Panamera has also set further benchmarks in design. Long and dynamic proportions, a sharpened sports car silhouette, athletic flanks and an extremely fast roof line emphasise the characteristics of a true Porsche. Recognisable at first glance are the new LED headlights with four-point daytime running lights. The contradictory characteristics of sports and luxury in these models achieve perfect balance, and highlight the unparalleled performance and power of the new Panamera.

In addition, the classic Porsche 997 Speedster was displayed in Mianyang for the first time. And the Porsche’s sports cars, including the new 911 Carrera, Macan, Cayenne, the new 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman with the all-new four-cylinder turbocharged engine, were also displayed at the grand opening of Porsche Centre Mianyang. The perfect combination of high performance and everyday usability embodied in every Porsche model fully demonstrates the guiding credo of “Intelligent Performance” and consistent passion of the Porsche brand.
