Grand Opening of the Third Porsche Centre in Chongqing ProvincePorsche China further enhances its dealer network in southwestern China
Shanghai/Chongqing. On July 21, 2016, Porsche Centre Chongqing Nan’an opened with a grand celebration. As the third Porsche Centre in Chongqing province, it further consolidates Porsche’s development in southwestern China and underlines Porsche’s value in this potential market. Mr. Franz Jung, President and Chief Executive Officer of Porsche China; Mr. Yaw Chee Ming, Chairman of StarChase Group; Mr. Leon Tan, Executive Director of StarChase Group; Mr. Speed Guo, General Manager of Porsche Centre Chongqing Nan’an; and representatives from the local government and media along with over 150 guests attended the ceremony to witness this memorable event.
Porsche Centre Chongqing Nan’an is invested by the StarChase Group. It spreads across 13,689 square metres and includes a state-of-the-art showroom that is capable of simultaneously displaying 18 Porsche sports cars. The service centre consists of 15 work bays and 2 direct dialogue bays, and it is equipped with world-leading diagnostic and repair equipment. Porsche Centre Chongqing Nan’an also boasts a professional sales and after-sales team, providing the best-in-class service for every Porsche customer.

During the opening, the new 718 Boxster made its debut for the first time in this Porsche Centre. The 718 Boxster is equipped with a two-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine achieveing a torque of up to 310 Nm, while the 2.5-litre engine of the 718 Boxster S, with Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG) technology, delivers up to 420 Nm and 257 kW (350 hp) . The S-model sprints from zero to 100 km/h in a remarkable 4.2 seconds in the “Sport Plus” mode, 0.6 seconds faster than its predecessor. The 718 Boxster can be recognized at first glance. Rounding off the front end are bi-xenon headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights. More efficient LED headlights with four-point daytime running lights are available as a new option. The taillights are slim lines; their inner workings are fashioned three-dimensionally. Four LED brake spot lights are incorporated into each of the horizontal rear light units. Between the two taillights, an accent trim makes the rear end look even wider. Driving dynamic options such as the Sport Chrono Package, Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) allow the sporty character of the 718 Boxster to be customized further. The PASM sport suspension, with a 20-millimetre lowering of the ride height, is available as an option in the S model for the first time, while the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) is a standard feature in both the base and S models. A central element of the new interior layout of the coupé is the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) unit with mobile phone preparation, audio interfaces and the 110-watt Sound Package Plus. The PCM can be extended with optional modules, and is compatible with Apple CarPlay, to comprehensively adapt it to personal requirements.
